Welcome to Reception!
At Manley Park Primary School we believe children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships. We recognise that every child is a competent learner who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. In Reception we explore and build on what the children know and can do. We encourage them to actively challenge themselves, developing positive attitudes towards learning.
The Learning Environment
Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and carers. We provide a rich and varied environment which supports children’s learning and development. It gives them the confidence to explore and learn in secure and safe, yet challenging, indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Early Years Foundation Stage classrooms are organised to allow children to independently explore and learn securely and safely.
Each classroom is organised into areas of continuous provision that are displayed and maintained to support children’s experiences as independent learners.
Both the Nursery and Reception children have continuous access to an area of outdoor provision.
Outdoor learning is valued across the Early Years Foundations Stage.

In our EYFS we believe that the ways in which children engage with other people and their environment – playing and exploring, active learning, and creating and thinking critically - underpin learning and development across all areas and support children remain effective and motivated learners. At Manley Park practitioners reflect on the different ways that children learn.
